Kort verwoord, de Volkswagen Golf Rallye is een zeer unieke auto. Hij is gebaseerd op de welbekende Golf MK2. Daarom is hij qua uiterlijk wel vergelijkbaar. Maar wanneer je er een dieper gaat kijken, krijg je te zien wat deze Golf Rallye nou speciaal maakt.
Ten eerste, is hij uitgevoerd met het welbekende 1.8 8V motorblok met G-lader van Volkswagen. Deze bestaat uit een in-lijn-viercilinder met een cilinderinhoud van 1763cc. Dit was origineel 1781cc, maar deze inhoud moest verlaagd worden vanwege de FIA (World motor sport) voorschriften. Deze produceert zo'n 161pk samen met 225nm koppel. Daarnaast heeft de Rallye-Golf "Syncro" permanente vierwielaandrijving.

In a nutshell, the Volkswagen Golf Rallye is a very unique car. It is based on the well-known Golf MK2. Therefore, it is similar in appearance. But when you take a deeper look at it, you get to see what makes this Golf Rallye special.
