Volkswagen Golf GTI MkII 1988
- Very good condition
- Newly painted 'Tornado red' paint job
- 16” alloy BBS rims
- New Michelin tires
- iconic car
The Golf GTI is known as a car that offers an awful lot of driving pleasure for relatively little money. Thanks to a lightweight and sporty design with a 112-hp 1.8-liter engine, the car sprints to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and cornering is a joy. Many examples have been abused over time and a beautiful and unspoiled example is becoming increasingly scarce. The example we are offering is a very well preserved Golf. Only a subtle lowering was done afterwards. Executed in the beautiful bright red color 'Tornado rot', which is still in a beautiful condition and combines nicely with the characteristic red GTI details. The VW was first delivered on May 11, 1988 and was recently imported from Belgium. The good optical and technical condition indicate the care the car has had from an enthusiast. The engine compartment is also extremely clean and dry. Rust is not to be found on this example. In the interior you imagine yourself back in the 80s: everything is functional and solid. The characteristic “golf ball” gearshift is a distinctive detail. Thanks to a sunroof you can enjoy the sun. In short: a very nice example of a car that puts a smile on your face while driving.
General information about the Golf GTI MkII
The successful Golf GTI was the sporty version of the regular Golf and was introduced in 1984. It was equipped with a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder Bosch K-Jetronic injection engine with 112 horsepower. It was equipped with disc brakes all around and weighed less than 1,000 KG. The subtle front and rear spoiler visually distinguish the GTI from the normal Golf. The first generation Golf GTI is now an icon and the MkII is following in its footsteps. A good one is becoming increasingly scarce and sought after, which is why prices are rising. This is your chance to get your hands on a fine specimen.
