The Toyota Land Cruisers from this '40' model series are available in different versions, from the FJ40 Softop to the HJ47 Troopy. Available engines were the 6 cylinder petrol (FJ), the 4 cylinder diesel (BJ) and 6 cylinder diesel (HJ). These special HJ45 Pick-Ups in an LWB version are very rarely offered for sale. In 1978, only a handful of these pick-ups were delivered throughout Europe.

This original version of the Land Cruiser was delivered new in the French Dordogne. For decades it has been used to transport fuel to tractors and agricultural vehicles on vineyards. The winegrower was very careful with his Land Cruiser because it was still in a state with little rust when it was bought 12 years ago by two Toyota enthusiasts and connoisseurs of the HJ.

Our HJ45 is equipped with a 3.6 liter 6 cylinder diesel engine with 97 hp. It is an LWB (long wheel base) version. The rugged 16” rims have free-range hubs. The 4-speed gearbox is linked to a high and low range. This is for heavy terrain work.

No expense was spared during the restoration to bring this Land Cruiser back to its original condition. The sheet metal and paintwork is of a very high quality and the HJ is painted in the original 'Rustic Green' factory color. The cabin, the interior and the woodwork in the body have also been completely restored.
This restoration was done with great care and an eye for detail. Even the original spot welds have been preserved. The sheet metal worker spent 250 hours on the body of the pick-up bed alone. This with a fantastic result.

It goes without saying that a lot has been technically renewed on the car and original factory parts have been used. The entire project took more than 1,500 hours. An extensive report of this top restoration is available. The original French registration papers are also present with the car.

This is a 'matching numbers' Land Cruiser in top condition! The original tool kit and French papers come with the car. A top copy in new condition, as you rarely come across.
