The Toyota Land Cruiser is well known for its rock-solid and extremely solid reputation. When you talk about off-road, you probably quickly think of a Jeep. This is also what Americans in particular were very familiar with. The Willy's MB had been in use by the Americans for a long time. The Japanese got wind of this, and this resulted in Toyota taking on the task of putting their own spin on it. From this, the Toyota Land Cruiser was born. The first prototype model was called the AK10. In 1955, the Land Cruiser BJ was exhibited. This was the beginning of the Land Cruiser bloodline. Its successor came in your 60s, titled the FJ40. This is where the Land Cruiser gained a lot more recognition. This generation of Land Cruiser was powerful and indestructible. The FJ series was available with the appropriate F engines. This series were produced until 1984 where the 70 series took over.
This is a 1980 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. It is finished in a beautiful "Olive Green" (563) along with a "Light Grey" (LK11) upholstery. The brownish paint looks beautiful and makes a unique combination with the original 16-inch white steel wheels. The bodywork is in a nice and restored condition. This can also be said about the interior. The Land Cruiser was originally Dutch delivered and first registered in September 1980. The previous owner owned it for almost 20 years.
The 4-speed manual transmission and low/high gearing are mated to the well-known F2 engine block. This 4.2-litre 6-cylinder is known for its immense reliability. Low gearing is a modified ratio that provides extra traction. This is useful for off-roading but also for towing a heavy trailer in a hilly area.
It has a white roof, white headlining and a white grille. These accents complete the car. Behind the car there is a swing-out gate to get into the rear of the car. Attached to this door is the spare wheel. At the front of the bumper is an unused electric winch that can pull more than 5,900 kilograms of weight. It is fitted with new Monroe shock absorbers and BF-Goodrich tyres.
It drives and shifts very well. The Japanese off-road vehicle has had a recent MOT inspection. In terms of documentation, there is an inspection along with several registration certificates.
