Porsche 944 2.5 Coupé 1986
- 17" Cup rims
- 17 years in possession last owner
- Weinrot over Burgundy Leather
The 944 is the title of Porsche's range of sports models. It was produced from 1982 to 1991 and is the successor to the narrower and water-cooled 924. It received a wider body and an improved interior.
The biggest difference was the engine. The 944's base engine was a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder. The engine of the 924 had been developed by Volkswagen, but that of its successor was a completely solo project by Porsche itself and was therefore considered a "real" Porsche. Several versions of the 944 were released over the years. These consisted of:
- 944 (base model)
- 944 Turbo
- 944 S
- 944 S2
- 944 S2 Cabriolet
With over 163,000 cars produced, the 944 was the most successful sports car in Porsche's history at the time.
This is a neat original German-delivered Porsche 944 from 1986. It has been owned by the same owner for the last 17 years.
It comes in a beautiful "Weinrot" combined with a "Burgundy leather" interior. Underneath the car are 17-inch cup rims that are in a clean condition. Ex-factory, it is equipped with the following options:
- Radio preparation
- Electric roof panel
- Electric windows & mirrors
- Power steering
- Leather seats front and rear
- Air conditioning
The in-line four-cylinder is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It runs beautifully and shifts smoothly. This is reflected in the fine condition of the car and the documentation present. This consists of a manual, along with various invoices and inspections.
There is a whining noise coming from the engine, probably the balancer belt (tensioner). Driving like this is no problem but should you want the car to be technically 100% again, replacement is a good option.
