The Mercedes-Benz 170 S, with its larger dimensions, a more powerful engine and its improved interior equipment, was the further development of the 170 V presented in 1949, with which car production in Untertürkheim resumed in 1946 after the Second World War. The 170 S-series (W 136 IV) consisted of the four-seat sedan, the two-seat Cabriolet A and this four-seat Cabriolet B and with the additional designation "S" was the first vehicle in the luxury class of Mercedes-Benz vehicle category for decades to the current "S-Class". With its perfect proportions and extensive equipment, the Mercedes-Benz 170 S Cabriolet B was the epitome of luxury in the immediate post-war years and was built only 1,603 times at a new price of DM 12,500.

We are pleased to present this beautiful Mercedes-Benz 170 S Cabriolet B from the W136 IV series. The smooth 4-cylinder 1.767cc inline engine has a power of 52 hp. This is coupled to a manual 4-speed gearbox. The '170' has drum brakes all around. The body is painted in dark blue and has a completely renewed interior. The leather seats and the carpet are in burgundy red. The paintwork is in perfect condition. The body has great fits of the doors, sills and fenders. In addition, the beautiful chrome parts are a feast for the eyes.

This chic Mercedes-Benz was delivered new in 1950. The full restoration started in September 2010. In 2018 the 170 S came on Dutch registration.
