The first generation of the car was unveiled on March 5, 1996 at the Geneva Motor Show. The XK was the long-awaited successor to the XJS that was already 22 years old. The introduction of the XK also marked the market launch of Jaguar's new AJ-V8 engine. The XK was available as a coupé and convertible and always equipped with a 4 liter V8 coupled to a 5-speed automatic. However, there was a choice of two power variants, 294 hp or 363 hp. The latter of the two is powered by a supercharger. The variant without supercharger was called XK8, the variant with supercharger was named XKR.

This 1996 XK8 was delivered in a Topaz gold metallic color. This gives the classic sports car a beautiful luxurious look. Looking at the interior, it features Black 'Warm Charcoal' leather, finished with 'Burr Walnut' wood dashboard and details. There is a lot of luxury to be found. It is and remains a Jaguar of course. This can also be seen in the new price, which was then about € 100,000.

The odometer reads only about 146,000 kilometers. The Jaguar is equipped with a petrol and an LPG engine. The 4.0 liter V8 provides a power of 284 HP and 0-100 km/h in a neat 7 seconds. The engine runs smoothly and drives well. Then there is a Harman Kardon sound system that produces the best sound.

In terms of documentation, there are 2 original folders with the accessories manuals and instruction booklets. An inspection report is also available.

The current owner has owned the car for more than 12 years. The XK8 is also equipped with a new MOT.
