The Citroën was purchased new by a doctor from Brittany. Unfortunately, he was only able to enjoy the car for a few years. After his death, his widow could not part with the car.
All the while the DS was stored in a dry warm garage, put on trestles and tucked under the covers. When the widow died, the DS was taken over by a relative from Provence. The car had only 27,900 kilometers on the clock at the time. The car was part of car collections in the years that followed. Since 2015, the car has been part of the current owner's collection.
The car has not been restored but is extremely well preserved. A paint measurement shows that the car is 90% in its first paint condition, only a very small piece on the right door has been repainted once. The “Gris Palladium” paint is not only almost completely original but is also in top condition and looks beautiful. The body is also in perfect condition. The sheet metal is beautiful and the fits are correct. All chrome moldings are also in top condition.
It is immediately apparent from the interior that this is a very early Pallas. This early 'Pallas' version can be recognized by the black ashtray, the pull buttons for the hood release without plastic handles and the height adjuster is not yet fitted with the specific 'Pallas' upholstery. The interior is upholstered in Rouge Carmin upholstery which is completely original and in mint condition. Also things like the headliner, the carpet, the dashboard, the lining of the trunk, everything is in absolute new condition.
The DS19 Pallas was brought to DS specialist Bart Kocken in 2017 with the task of making the car completely technically perfect. No expense has been spared in this regard. Among other things, the engine and the suspension system were overhauled. The work was extensive and the costs amounted to no less than € 21,061. The invoices and descriptions are of course present with the car. Since then, only 2,220 kilometers have been driven with the car. The total mileage is still only 31,600 kilometers. The 1.9 liter four-cylinder engine runs perfectly and produces 83 hp. The engine is coupled to a 4-speed manual gearbox which shifts perfectly. The hydraulic chassis, the brakes, everything works perfectly.
The car is not only very well preserved but also everything that goes with it. From the manual to photos of the car wearing the old hand-painted French number plates. Many features confirm its originality, such as stamps and stickers applied during production in 1964.
The originality can be found in many details. From the manufacturing stamps on the inside of the front fenders to the heads of the bolts, which are provided with the Citroën logo. In many other cases this is no longer present due to collisions.
In addition, the original spare wheel with Michelin tire still has the factory lead! The detailed photos give you a preview. Partly due to the presence of these unique details, this is a one-time opportunity to come into possession of this beauty.
