BMW 323i E21 1982
- 3rd owner
- New MOT
- Original Dutch
- Alpina-look & ''Zender'' package
At the time, the 323i was the top model of BMW's first ''real'' 3-series, the E21. With its 2.3-litre 6-cylinder engine and fuel injection, power came to 143HP and a 0-100km/h time of 8.7 seconds. Very impressive figures for a small, compact sedan. This combined with its handling and fairly sporty suspension made the 323i a delightful driver's car! There was no M3 of this generation of 3-series but the 323i is considered a precursor to the M3.
Shown here, is a 1982 BMW E21 323i, which is finished in Alpina styling. This applies to both the exterior and the interior. The body colour is a neat 'BMW graphit metallic'. The interior consists of a black and dark grey combination of leather and fabric, along with white leather headlining. Both the paint and the interior are in clean condition. The front seats are Recaro sports seats, which was a sought-after and expensive option at the time. It also has a skylight. Electric windows & mirrors are present.
Alpina accents can be found in many places. Even if it is the wooden gear lever, the counter instruments, logos and the striping around the car. At the bottom of this rare 323i are 15-inch multi-spoke Rial rims. The BMW is in possession of a Zender bodykit. This consists of a different front spoiler, sideskirts, rear bumper and rear spoiler. All expensive options at the time!
The original Dutch-delivered BMW comes from the possession of the 2nd owner. He cherished this car in his collection. In 2018, no expense was spared on maintenance, as more than €10,000 was spent on it. This included replacing the entire injection system, brake calipers overhauled, master cylinder replaced etc. The invoice for all work is present in the history folder. The car recently had a new MOT and is ready for new adventures!
Under the bonnet is the aforementioned 2.3-litre inline-six cylinder. This is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine runs well and shifts smoothly. The car shows rust in some places, including the trunk edge and the rear.
In terms of documentation, a manual is present, along with several invoices and an MOT inspection certificate.
A unique classic with many miles left in store!
