One of the most popular if not the most popular BMW model line. The E30. This was the factory code for the 3-series and the Z1, which were produced from 1984 to 1994. It was made in many different versions. A Touring, 2 and 4-door sedan, convertible, as well as even an M3. Engines also came in all different variations; 1.8 Carburettor, 2.4 (turbo) diesel, 2.0-2.7 litre 6-cylinders, 2.3 litre 16-valve, etc. A total of some 2,344,341 were produced.
Our 1987 BMW 316 is the only E30 model with a carburettor. And in this case, a Weber carburettor. The E30 coupe came in a neat lachs-silber opposite a dark blue cloth interior. It has a odometer reading of just 165,049km, which is provable with a NAP odometer report. The interior is in clean condition. The front jack stands need some attention.
This is an original Dutch-delivered BMW. It was sold on 27 February 1987 at autobedrijf B. Henken in Elst. This can be seen in the service book, along with several stamps from inspections over the years. This shows that it has always been well maintained and cared for. The 4th and last owner has owned it since 2007, or 16 years.
Under the bonnet there is a 1.8 4-cylinder with carburettor. The carburettor has been replaced for a sought-after Weber carburettor with manual choke. An invoice of this is present. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It runs well and shifts smoothly.
In terms of documentation, there is the following:
- Filled-in service booklet
- NAP counter report
- Various manuals and inspections
A classic AND iconic BMW with lots of kilometres in store!
